چکیده
H U r ( s p d d v t bstract his randomized double-blind crossover trial investiated the efficacy and discomfort associated with low (60 seconds) and rapid (15 seconds) inferior lveolar nerve blocks (IANB) using 2.0 ml of 2% idocaine with 1:80,000 epinephrine in securing manibular first molar, premolar and lateral incisor pulp nesthesia in 38 healthy adult volunteers. Episodes f maximal stimulation (80 A) without sensation on lectronic pulp testing were recorded. Injection disomfort was self-recorded by volunteers on 100 mm isual analogue scales. Data were analyzed by Mcemar, Friedman, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks, and aired t tests. Slow IANB produced more episodes of o response to maximal pulp stimulation than rapid ANB in molars (220 episodes versus 159, p .001), premolars (253 episodes versus 216, p .003) and lateral incisors (119 episodes versus 99, 0.049). Slow IANB was more comfortable than apid IANB (p 0.021). (J Endod 2006;32:919 –923)
